Leviticus. We all know some of it, it is rules and commandments for the Israelites at that time. Christians who want to prove they are right LOVE this book. Let me quote something from it that has been quoted at me.
“‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.”
I get this a lot, because I have many tattoos… they obviously haven’t read the whole book. Let me quote the verse directly before it, Leviticus 19:27:
“You are not to cut off the hair at the sides of your head or mar the edge of your beard.”
Yep. No, shaving, guys. No trimming of those unruly sideburns you’ve got. Do you see how comical this is? Yes, G-d did command these people at this time to not do these things… but it is NOT that time. And we are not the same people. If a Christian ever starts quoting stuff like this out of Leviticus and shaming you because of your tattoos (or anything else, for that matter). Tell them to read the whole chapter and to stop misquoting scripture to prove they are better. That is the opposite of Christ’s plan.
